The Passing Bus in Residential Area Protested by Locals

Traffic congestion that always occurs every weekday on Jalan Yos Sudarso towards Tanjung Priok Terminal, North Jakarta, causing city bus crew finally look for a shortcut. They then find an alternative lane by passing through residential areas and cause congestion in such residential. Moreover, the bus also potentially damaging the asphalt.

Vian, (24), a citizen of RT 11/09 Kebon Bawang Urban Village, Tanjung Priok, expressed city buses have passing his residential since a year ago. This condition has caused congestion on Jalan Enggano, Jalan Bugis, Jalan Gadang, Jalan Gorontalo, and Jalan Enim.

Responding on this matter, Head of North Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Hengki Sitourus admitted his sub-department will immediately check the condition soon. "The news has not reached to us. But I'll check it," he stated.
